The Howling Commandos Resistance Cell
Named after the military unit that Nick Fury commanded when he was a white US Army sergeant in World War II, the Howling Commandos cell is comprised of ex-SHIELD agents who followed their trusted leader when he left to establish SHAFT.
Although the structure of SHAFT is by its nature decentralized, the Howling Commandos cell serves to coordinate the efforts of the other resistance cells when necessary.
In this way the scores of independent SHAFT enclaves that riddle the globe, whether they are high profile superhero teams or clandestine groups of anarchists and activists, can work together for large-scale actions.
